THERIAULT, Barbara Pearl "Betty"
Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of our mother, Betty Theriault.

Mom passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, surrounded by her family at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home in Antigonish.

Betty was born on October 25, 1933. She was the only child of William and Mary MacLeod of Georgeville, Antigonish County.

Mom often shared fond memories of her early teaching days, instructing multiple grades in a historic one-room schoolhouse in Georgeville. Years later, she was employed at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, where she formed many lasting friendships.

Betty was happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The grandkids knew that when they dropped by to visit Nanny, they would be treated to her famous "Nanny Lunch", homemade biscuits, cheese, jam, squares, and tea.

Mom had a deep love for animals, especially her dog Lexie, along with Sam, Hank, Molly, and Hurley, who were regular visitors at the R.K.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, John.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Joan, Frank, Barbara (Kevin), and Colette; her grandchildren: Nicole, Kimberley, Kyle, Evan, Lucas, Megan, John, Benjamin, Jenna, and Emma; and her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Judi, Harrison, Juliette, Eleanor, Philip, Peyton, and Oaklyn.

Rest peacefully, Mom. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home and to Dr. Cooper for their kindness and care.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private funeral will be held at C.L. Curry Funeral Home at a later date.
