Fisher, David
James, age 69, of Malignant Cove, Antigonish County, passed away
peacefully on July 17, 2026, at home with family and friends at his
side.
Born in
Antigonish, he was a son of the late Ronald and Mabel
Fisher.
David was
raised in Pleasant Valley and Malignant Cove, and he was a hardworking
man. He was a man who took great pride in his
property. He was known throughout the community for his
gardens and flowerbeds.
David began
his work life in the woods, but he worked hard putting himself through
upgrade school to join the Coast Guard, which was a job he was
extremely proud of. In his spare time, David enjoyed hunting
and, especially, fishing.
He is
survived by his wife, Rosetta (Fleming); sons, Darren Hape (Kayla
Cunningham) and Shawn Fisher (Ketsara Vatanyootaweewat);
grandchildren, Darien, Rylee, Aiden, Kalleigh, and Tidus; brothers,
Lenny (Kitty), Myles, and Kevin (Leslie); and sisters, Cathy (late
Longard) and Marie (Shane).

by his brothers, Wade, Jeffery, and
Kenneth
Visitation
will be held Thursday from 3 to 5pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135
College Street, Antigonish. A graveside service will be held
Thursday at 6pm in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maryvale, with
Reverend Andrew Boyd presiding.
