GALLAGHER, Roberta “Bobbie” Marie, 68, died peacefully
August 28, 2009, at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish,
after a short-illness.
Bobbie was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter Wendy Gallagher of Courtice, Ontario (Joe Shine) and son Michael Gallagher of Penticton, B.C. (Christine Derksen). She is also survived by her sisters Alice Milner, Mary Ann MacIsaac (Angus), Antigonish; Donna Duggan (Lawrence), Lismore. Pre-deceased by her sister Margaret Boyle, her mother Marie Milner and father Cecil Milner and special Aunt May Forbes.
Aunt to Michelle Stewart, Chad MacDonald, Dawn George, Lorne MacIsaac, Kyle MacIsaac, Jason Duggan and Kelli Duggan. Special niece of Effie Osbourne of Halifax and sister in law to Francis Boyle.
Bobbie was a member of the Catholic Women's League, Pictou County Crime Stoppers Board and the Karen -Lynn MacDonald Allergy Awareness Society.
A devoted teacher all her life, Bobbie taught in schools in Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. She spent many years coaching school basketball teams, teaching Catechism and tutoring out of her home. Bobbie was known to everyone as a true friend and the first to help someone in need. She will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary's Church, Lismore on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 am with Reverend Anthony MacDonald presiding. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s Regional Hospital. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com
