Lays, Marie "Antoinette", 92, of RK MacDonald Nursing Home, formerly of West River, Antigonish Co., died on Tuesday in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in the Magdeline Islands, she was a daughter of the late Fortune and Marie (Brassett) Cormier. She was a member of St. Ninian Cathedral Parish and a member of St. Ninian's CWL.  She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying music dancing and laughter, always with a smile on her face. She was last surviving member of her family.

She is survived by daughter, Simone (Wayne) Smith, West River, Lorraine, Antigonish; Cindy (Terry) Martens, Maple Ridge, BC; Sons: Kevin (Doris) Antigonish, Bob (Darlene), Orillia, Ont; Joseph(Karen) Fredericton, NB; Benny (Sandy), Edmonton, Raymond (Pam), Fort McMurray; Graham (Brenda), Cross Field; Alta;Duncan (Cindy), Fort McMurray; 30 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Diane, Glace Bay; sisters-in-law Theresa Cormier, Antigonish and Sr. Sally Lays, Bethany, Antigonish.

Predeceased by husband Alex; son, Sander, 2 sons in infancy Gerard and Edmond, sisters: Rose, Cecelia, Julianne, Jenny, Mary, Evelyn, and Emma; brothers: Edward, Edmund, Phil, Newman, Lucien, and Frank.

Visitation will be held Today (Thursday)from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in the C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday in St. Ninian Cathedral at 3:00pm with Reverend Johnathan presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
